Travel Marketing Ideas On Hold

I was looking forward to sharing marketing ideas with you while in Las Vegas, but the Internet connection at the lodging facility is horribly inadequate.

But this is just a temporary situation. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with what I have to share with you once I return on Thursday, so I hope you’ll accept my apologies for the setback.

When I arrive back in home territory on Thursday afternoon, I’ll be back in business. Thanks for your patience.

Marketing While You Fly

Luggage is for more than travel.March Travel Series Focus No. 1.

Small and solo business owners stay ahead of the curve when it comes to marketing. We try not to reinvent the wheel, but sometimes there are promotional ideas that present themselves because of circumstances.

Today’s circumstance is airline travel. I’ll fly to Las Vegas to present two seminars. One presentation, Planning Your Own PR and Marketing, is at the World Tea Expo. I’ll also conduct a gift basket seminar at a local adult school.

Since my business career started with gift baskets and my industry books are currently No. 1 and No. 2 worldwide, I try not to miss an opportunity, while traveling, to market my products and services within the other industry I serve.

My luggage is always searched due to its contents. It contains crackers, cheese, cookies, and other goodies to show aspiring gift basket designers. So I do what any smart marketer would do. I promote the benefits of starting a business and visiting my Web site in my luggage.

The photograph shows a sample note that accompanies my luggage. It’s at a distance, but what you see is a legal-sized sheet of paper containing my marketing message.

I’m not trying to sway airline workers to quit their jobs. Perhaps a relative or friend has expressed a desire to start a business, and gift baskets may be an option. It’s my luggage. Why not use it to market a rewarding career that can be done on a part-time or full-time basis?

Are your products and services marketable while traveling from point A to point B?
