Type Size Puts Your Marketing Message in Focus

Flawless campaigns written in convincing language does little to sell your products and services if prospects cannot read the message.

Small font sizes used in print and on the Web keep your message out of focus for those who are part of the target market. They may not be vocal about the problem, but no one can provide feedback if your phone number and Email address are illegible.

Here are three tips for choosing a font that every age can read.

1. Select Arial, Times Roman, or a similar character-friendly font.

2. Use bold for emphasis rather than italics.

3. Red and blue are acceptable colors to highlight words. Lighter colors cannot be seen by most people over 50.

Microsoft is also reaching out to older customers. They’ve created Optical Mouse 3000, which magnifies words by clicking an area on the mouse’s left side.

Making your font size friendly for all ages helps clear up your message and allows everyone to see the big picture.
